Ve čtvrtém díle TRANSISTORIEse ohlížíme za vznikem sexuologie a soustředíme se na otázku, jak tato disciplína ovlivňovala a nadále ovlivňuje životy trans osob. Ačkoliv sexuologie na jednu stranu nabízela nová chápání trans prožitků, tyto prožitky často patologizovala a její spojitost s eugenikou vrhá stín na to, jaké vlastně byly její společenské cíle. I přesto však najdeme případy jako Christine Jorgensen, jejíž život jakožto trans ženy byl sexuologií společensky legitimizován. Jorgensen byla revoluční postavou v trans historii díky své otevřenosti vůči médiím.

TRANSISTORIE je podcast o tom, co znamená nebo znamenalo být trans. Podcast skrze informace o životech historických trans osob poskytuje trans komunitě možnost zasadit svůj vlastní život do širšího kontextu, který sahá hluboko do historie, a zároveň umožňuje široké veřejnosti pochopit, že se nejedná o novodobý fenomén, ale o genderovou zkušenost, která tu existuje od nepaměti.
Podcastem provází autorka Jamie Rose společně v dialogu s Johannou Nejedlovou.
Jamie Rose je aktivistka a doktorandka FF UK v oboru anglofonní literatury a kultury, která se ve svém akademickém zaměření zajímá především o anglofonní transgender literaturu.
Johanna Nejedlová je zakladatelka spolku Konsent.

In the fourth episode of TRANSISTORY we look back at the origins of sexology and focus on how this discipline has affected and continues to affect the lives of transgender people. We also introduce a rare story of Christine Jorgensen.
The connection between sexology and eugenics casts a shadow over what its social goals were. Nevertheless, we find cases such as Christine Jorgensen, whose life as a trans woman has been socially legitimized by sexology. Jorgensen was a revolutionary figure in trans history due to her openness to the media.

TRANSISTORY is a podcast about what it means or has meant to be trans. Via information about the lives of historical trans figures, the podcast provides members of the trans community with the opportunity to place their own lives within a broader context which reaches far back into history, and at the same time enables the wider public to understand that this is in no way a modern phenomenon, but rather a gender experience which has existed here since time immemorial.
The podcast will be released once every 14 days on podcast platforms such as Mixcloud, Soundcloud and Apple Podcasts.
It is part of the project QUEERING. AN ENDLESS NUMBER OF POTENTIAL NATURES, a series of lectures, discussions and workshops taking place in co-operation with figures from the field of activism, the exact sciences and fine arts, focusing on the search for new forms of evolutionary processes, ecological interactions and policies from the perspective of queer and feminist theory, and inter-disciplinary co-operation.
